St James' Parochial Church Council
Life with St Benedict offers daily reflections to help enable personal spiritual growth and prayer.
‘In a time when many are seeking space, silence and spiritual depth,’ says Richard, ‘the Rule of St Benedict retains relevance in a world where change is often feared, stability can be elusive, and busyness interferes with listening to God.’
‘In this companion to the Rule, Richard Frost shares his own experience as a Benedictine oblate. He offers a distilled wisdom for daily reflection to help us deepen our love of God and neighbour,’ writes Rt Revd Robert Atwell, Bishop of Exeter.
Finding Stability in Times of Change
In these rather strange and disconcerting times, it is good that there is a plethora of resources and information available to enable people to pray and worship from home.
Richard Frost, one of our Readers, has put together 3 films which could be used to provide a basic structure for a personal Quiet Day. These were developed from a Quiet Day he led at St Lawrence's, Biddulph in January and was due to led at St Luke's Bath just last Saturday. The topic 'Finding Stability in Times of Change' has perhaps taken on a new relevance in this current period.
The films can be watched through http://workrestpray.com/films/
May God bless you and reassure you in the current times.
